The Poppies stained glass windows was dedicated to the two soldiers from this tiny village in Oxfordshire, who died during the Two World Wars.
THIS WINDOW WAS SET IN PLACE TO COMMEMORATE THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE ENDING OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR AND ALL THOSE WHO SERVED IN IT.
WE REMEMBER WITH PRIDE TWO MEN FROM THIS VILLAGE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY IN THE TWO WORLD WARS:
PRIVATE HENRY [ Harry] GIBBARD, DIED 11 AUGUST 1915 AGED 30 YEARS.
BURIED IN ALEXANDRIA [ Chatby] MILITARY And WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY, NORMANDY.
LANCE CORPORAL THOMAS VICTOR WALKER , DIED 07 AUGUST 1944.AGED 23 YEARS. BURIED IN St.CHARLES de PERCY WAR CEMETERY, NORMANDY.
