The sculpture stand at the end of the entrance walkway to the park. It's surround by shrubs. The statue of Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla sits on a marble base. Hidalgo Y Costilla is wearing a long overcoat. His left hand is stretched out and his right hand is over his heart.
The base has the icon of Mexico (the eagle with the snake on the cactus) Written below it says "Miguel Hidalgo - Libertador de Mexico - 1810."
Hidalgo is most famous for his Grito de Dolores, the cry he gave for the people of the town of Hidalgo to take up arms against the Spanish.
