This home got it's name because President Wilson stayed here during the winter of 1913 apparently due to health reasons. The home received substantial damage during hurricanes Camille and Katrina. It was rebuilt both times. Enjoy your visit!

DIXIE "WHITE HOUSE"
Built by John Backe of New Orleans in 1851. Here in 1913 Pres. Woodrow Wilson and family spent winter vacation as guests of the owner, Miss Alice Herndon.
