At 40 feet tall and covering a foot print of 40 feet by 50 feet, it is hard to miss this sculpture as one passes by the campus of Cleveland State University.
Completed in 1995, this sculpture was so disliked by the then mayor of Cleveland Michael White that he had it installed in a side lot where it was mostly invisible. Ten years later it moved to a permanent home on the campus of Cleveland State University where it can be seen by people passing by on busy Chester Avenue. There are floodlights on the sculpture and it is timed to operate 18 hours per day.
The pencils spin, the wheels turn, and the politicians mouth opens and closes. This is one of the most visible roadside attractions in northeast Ohio.
