Text from the Plaque:
"Renaissance of a Tree
This carving commemorates the ancient cottonwoods that once sheltered City Park and were destroyed by windstorms in August 1997. The new Life brought to this tree by British Columbia artist Pete Ryan symbolizes the return of the magnificent anatum Peregrine Falcon to Okanagan skies after an absence of 40 years. Riverside Forest Products has placed this carving for your enjoyment and that of generations to come."
