Songkhla city is the capital of the Songkhla province in far southern Thailand. It is a small and pleasant coastal town.

Wat Yangthong is near the centre of the town. It is small, and has a slight air of neglect. I did not see a crematorium on the site. The major building was the temple. When I visited there were locked gates on the entrances to the temple.
