Public phones are still very popular in the 3rd world. As such I am only waymarking one phone from each major locale I visit.
The town of Hat Yai is in far south Thailand, close to the Malaysian border. It is the major town in the region, though not overly prosperous, with few western tourists. And, it is close to the (2009) region of Muslim separatist terrorism.
This payphone waymark is located in the 'Lee Garden Plaza'. One of the main malls in the town, and at the commercial centre of the town. The phone is found just inside the main entrance, opposite the KFC restaurant.
I dialed my mobile number on the phone, in order to gets its number, and then dialled back. The payphone rang and displayed my number.
