The E.R. Hays house now known as the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home was built 1895 for Edward R. Hays. Hays had served in the U.S. Congress from after winning a special election in 1890 and served only a few months at the end of the session.

The house was designed by William Foster in a late Victorian style. The house now converted to a mortuary has retained its historical architectural feature both inside and out. The building is well maintained.
