The small town of Songkhla (also the provincial capital, hence the shared name), has relatively good beaches. Along this stretch of beach are maybe a dozen or so beach volley ball nets. Possibly the nets are used for another game(s) as well. During my visit there were no locals present to interrogate.
Back approximately 20m from the water is this sculpture. What first struck me was how apt and pleasant it was in appearance. The shape conveys the motion of volley ball well, and the colour, when viewed against the ocean, merges and compliments pleasingly with the colours of the sky and water. It is also simple in design, but conveys its message well.
Sadly, there was no plaque or any detail of the sculpture present.
