windmill "Johanna" - Culemborg - The Netherlands - Windmills on Waymarking.com

Original wooden mill on a brick base was built here in 1878, but burnt down in 1888.

The next year it was rebuilt, likely using parts of the remains of a mill in Leerdam (just torn down).

The shape is somewhat unusual which could be explained because the original brick base had to be fitted to the top of the mill in Leerdam.

The crossbeam on the "tail" is also unusual for this area.
