Long Description:
On the west side of Clinton's Central Park (town common) stands a war monument. This is a Civil War Memorial, in honer of those men who died in the war. Atop this monument stands a soldier, in Union uniform, leaning against his rife. Bellow the pedestal where he stands is an inscription, carved around the top, left side to rear.
HONER TO THE DEAD WHO FOR THEIR COUNTRY DIED ERECTED BY THE TOWN A.D. 1875.
Bellow are the names and regiments of the above mentioned dead, about a dozen listed on each side.
