The dairy has been in operation since 1893. The family painted the quilt pattern based on a family quilt.

The Irish Chain quilt square is on the barn at the Blackburn Dairy farm. Three generations of this family painted the quilt square. The square was copied from a family quilt and is in honor of Bill and Wilma Deaderick. The dairy farm has been in operation for six generations since 1893.
