DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 4.6 MI NE FROM GREENEVILLE. 4.6 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 93 FROM THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY STATION AT GREENEVILLE, GREENE COUNTY, 142 FEET SOUTHWEST OF SOUTH CORNER OF A RESIDENCE (FORMERLY GAS STATION), 35 YARDS SOUTHWEST OF A CONCRETE BRIDGE, AT THE JAMES BAB RESIDENCE, 9 YARDS WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 16 YARDS SOUTHEAST OF THE FRONT STEPS OF THE HOUSE, 1-1/2 YARDS NORTH OF A WIRE FENCE LINE, 3 FEET LOWER THAN THE HIGHWAY, 4.3 FEET NORTHEAST OF A STEEL WITNESS POST AND 6 FEET EAST OF HIGHWAY RIGHT OF WAY MARKER POST. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED Z 98 1935 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

Saw the TVA witness sign, thus had son stop to check for the benchmark. The former gas station building is still there, as well as the bridge, and Bab residence (see white farmhouse in gallery). The witness post and BM are still in the same positions per the above description.
