This ferry is a reactive cable ferry, i.e. it has no engine of any kind but uses the power of the current to get across the river. It connects the Münster hill with the Northern quarter between Wettsteinbrücke and Mittlere Rheinbrücke.
It is a pedestrians ferry used by tourists and locals likewise.
It was established in 1877. Transfer costs 1.60 CHF for adults. Daily service, except for floods.
Extended service on special events in the neighborhood.
There's a long stairway from the landing up to the Münster, so this ferry is not suitable for wheel chairs or children's push chairs.
