Marker Text: Mt. Bailey erupted near the end of the ice ages, escaping severe glaciation. That’s why the shape remains rounded and smooth. However, the mountain is eroding now and will continue to do so. What forces are working to wear the mountain away.
What Next?
What will Bailey look like in 300,000 years? Another ice age may whittle it to a toothpick, or Bailey could spew out more lava, ash and cinders, becoming huge. Nobody really knows. We only know that it will change.
