[FR] À cette époque, Dijon porte le nom de Divio.
Les fondations de ce mur de dix mètres de haut sont en partie constituées de stèles, de statues et autres objet témoignant de la présence d'une nécropole. Certaines stèles, en forme d'obélisque - ce qui est unique - livrent de précieux renseignements sur les patronymes et professions des habitants de l'époque. Quelques voies traversaient ce castrum, dont l'une au niveau de l'actuelle rue Berbisey. Ce castrum possédait trente-trois tours dont une, à l'état de ruines, reste visible au 15 de la rue Charrue, dans une petite cour. Ce nouveau castrum gallo-romain de onze hectares protégeait sans doute certains édifices publics. On retrouva également les traces d'une fortification sur l'actuel Mont Afrique.
Le castrum abritait ainsi des thermes, des commerces (commerce du vin, des objets religieux, de la farine notamment) et un temple.
[EN] Dijon began as a Roman settlement called Divio, located on the road from Lyon to Paris.
The foundations of this wall, which was 10 meters high, are partly constructed of steles, statues, and other objects which testify to the presence of a necropolis. Some steles, in the form of an obelisk, provide precious information about the names and professions of the inhabitants at that time. The castrum had 33 towers, one of which, in ruins, is still visible at 15 rue Charrue, in a small courtyard. The Gallo-roman castrum covered an area of eleven hectars which probably protected certain public edifaces.
The castrum also protected public baths, businesses, and a temple.
