Known locally as the "woodchip trail," this wide and forgiving pathway along Davis/Dry Gulch Rd provides access to the South Hills Trail System, as well as the Rodney Ridge Trails.

Acces into the South Hills Trails can be gained along Eagle Scout Trail, or Archery Range Trail.
The parking area provides space for up to a dozen vehicles, and the trail is clearly marked with a sign. While dogs are welcome to visit the trails with thier owners, it is cautioned that numerous parts of the DeFord Trail parellel Davis/Dry Gulch Road - please keep animals on a leash at these points.
