Officially, Gold Brook or Stowe Hollow Bridge. Unofficially, "Emily's Bridge," because Emily haunts the place. There are several dramatic stories about how the name came about:

- (Date unknown) Emily was crossing the bridge on the way to her wedding when her horse bolted and threw her; she died of her injuries. Either that, or she was run down by a runaway team.

- Sometime in the 1800's, Emily was jilted by her fiancé and hung herself from a rafter.

- In 1925, homely Emily fell in love with Donald, who got her pregnant. When her father insisted that he marry her, Donald killed himself here. Following the death of preemie twins, Emily did the same.

A googling returns several variations of these stories, as well as first-hand accounts of encounters with Emily. From what is related, she can be pretty threatening.
