Boardwalks can also be in the desert. This one is partially built, and is being constructed in an effort to prevent a walking path from turning into a deeper dry wash than it already is. This is also part of a nature trail with many of the plants having identifying placards near them. Interestingly enough, being up on the completed portions of the boardwalk make for a much better experience.
Several sections have been completed to date, and when finished the boardwalk will make it much easier to walk this trail, especially after a rain.
