This is a beautiful and very large bronze statue placed in front of the Oklahoma History Center. It draws your attention the moment you drive into the parking lot because of it's size and location. The Oklahoma History Center is a phenomenal place to visit with the family. Many school groups come here for field trips, and my own kids have come to do reports for their Oklahoma History courses.

Information on the plaque:
"Unconquered
Bronze, 1994
By Allan Houser, Chiricahua Apache, 1914-1994
"Two men, fast men, quick men,
rather fight and not be afraid at all."
-Sam Haozous, Chiricahua Apache
(Allan Houser's father)

This sculpture was acquired through the generous support of the Inasmuch Foundation, created by Oklahoma pioneer journalist Edith Kinney Gaylord to improve the quality of life in her native state.

The stonework was a gift from Leslie and Cliff Hudson.
Additional support was provided by the
Friends of the Oklahoma Museum of History
