Lafourche Crossing is also site to an American Civil War battle fought here in June of 1863. Bridge crosses both Louisiana Highway 1 and Highway 308.

Bridge crosses Hwy. 1, Bayou Lafourche and Hwy. 308 south of Thibodaux, LA. Still used. There is a Historical Marker on the Hwy. 308 side about the Battle. sign link.
Both highways are very busy, so park and walk about 200 feet to bridge on the Highway 308 side.
