In Cambridge, between Harvard Square and Memorial Drive by the Charles River, is a green space that is named the John F. Kennedy Park. This park is mostly grassy, with a fountain (drained at the time since winter is approaching), and a small tree-lined walkway to the retail area of Harvard Square.
On the granite posts at each entrance and on the fountain are quotations from speeches that he made over his life. For example, on the entrance posts at Harvard Square, quotes include the following:
"What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living...not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." - June 10, 1963
"And if we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal." - June 10, 1963
On the fountain:
"The enduring qualities of Massachusetts - the common threads woven by the Pilgrim and the Puritan, the fisherman and the farmer, the Yankee and the immigrant - are an indelible part of my life, my convictions, my view of the past, and my hopes for the future."
There are more. Perhaps in a visit, you could add more that you find!
