From the inventory: "The fountain consists of four bronze columns each set in a stone base. The columns are molded with organic curves and are tinted green. The blocks of stone which make up the base of each column are squared off, but have open slits down each side and angles cut into their centers to accommodate the columns. Water shoots out from the top of each column and flows down the sides.

Inscription on nearby marker reads: "FOUNTAIN OF FOUR SEASONS"/EXECUTED IN BRONZE AND ITALIAN STONE/BY FRENCH SCULPTOR: FRANCOIS STAHLY/WINNER OF THE GOLDEN GATEWAY/SCULPTURE COMPETITION 1962/COMMISSIONED BY/GOLDEN GATEWAY CENTER/THE LABYRINTH OF STONES WHICH SURROUNDS THE/WATERGARDEN LEADS ONE VISUALLY TO FOUR COLUMNS/OF SCULPTURED BRONZE REPRESENTING THE SEASONS./THERE, THE ALTERNATE LIGHT AND SOARING WATER/STREAMS RECALL ONE TO CONTEMPLATE THE CONSTANT/CHANGING MOODS OF NATURE."
