[EN] In 1927, the rail car in which the armistice was signed was restored to the way it was at that time and placed in a building to protect it from the elements, thanks to the initiative of Mr. Fournier-Sarloveze, deputy mayor of Compiegne, and the generosity of an American, Mr. Henry Flemming. Destroyed by the Germans in 1940, the building, which serves as the museum, was reconstructed on November 11, 1950.
