The current Methodist church was built in 1929 replacing an earlier one on the same site which burned down the year before. The Methodist church dates to 1842 in the Jackson area when a small church had services conducted once a month by a Circuit Rider minister. The first more permanent church was built in the 1890's which was replace just a few years later by the church which burned in 1928. The current church building has had a few additions over the years to serve the growing congregation.
