This clock looks down at John Wickcliffe Square, which was one of the busiest locations in Dunedin with the main post office, the junction of two cable car lines and the tramway system, and the Grand Hotel. Today it is the commercial hub of Dunedin but few linger in the area after business hours except to go to the casino.
