TCU Horned Frog - Fort Worth, TX - Smithsonian Art Inventory Sculptures on Waymarking.com

This massive steel sculpture stands prominently in front of Dave Reed Hall on the TCU Campus. It dominates the area where it is displayed with the distinctive rust color, contrasting highly with the pebbled concrete surface on which it stands.

The signature on the sculpture is:
On left rear leg: Seppo
On base near ground: 8/84 Seppo Aarnos

It took Aarnos two to three months to create the sculpture in his studio, located in Georgetown, Texas. He only charged the Student Government Association the cost of the building materials, which was about $4,000. He brought the sculpture in a trailer from Georgetown to Fort Worth and bolted it down in its present location. The dedication ceremony took place in 1984 and the sculpture has been standing for 17 years. From TCU Daily Skiff 2002-01-16
