Per the park website (link below), "Our focus is on conservation education. Each of our birds is non-releasable and now serves as a "teacher." We strive for a more intimate encounter with our raptors for the park's visitors. You will often meet our birds with a handler on one of our trails or at the raptor center. In addition to these close encounters, we provide school programming at the park and monthly nature programs for the park’s visitors."

Current teachers:
"Merlin" - barred owl
"Chia" - black vulture
"Bubo" - great horned owl
"Yoda" - eastern screech owl
"Waginsi" - red-tailed hawk
