In Edo period, more than 300years before, we had Kabuki Theatre, Joruri Theatre, and Ningyou Theatre. Also, many puppeteer lived here.
So, they call this town of dolls, Ningyou-cho.
Near the station, Suitengu shrine is a popular sightseeing spot.
