The synagogue is now a museum and Memorial of Czech, German and Jewish Coexistence.
Since 1883, it has been a house of prayer for more than 200 citizens of Jewish faith, later a carpenter’s workshop, and even a warehouse for used truck tires.
After almost 70 years without dignity, the Hartmanice Memorial Association has reopened the synagogue with the highest elevation in the Czech Republic.

Synagoga v Harmanicích je nyní muzeum se stálou expozicí Spolužití Cechu, Nemcu a Židu na Šumave.
Od roku 1883 dum modlitby pro více než 200 obyvatel židovské víry, pozdeji truhlárna a sklad pneumatik.
Po témer 70 letech navrátilo nejvýše položené synagoze v Ceské republice její dustojnost obcanské sdružení Památník Hartmanice.
