This handsome building on the Esplanade is a fine example of an early 20th century Customs House. It was built to meet the demands of Strahan as it became the major port for the mining operations at Queenstown.
The two-storey brick building has stucco trim and houses the National Parks and Wildlife offices and a branch of the State Library of Tasmania (with public Internet access).
