These three bells are mounted in the church yard of St Joseph RC Church in Midland, Maryland. They were cast by the McShane Bell Foundry of Baltimore, Maryland in 1899. The largest bell is dedicated to St Joseph and the the other two are dedicated to Mary, Mother of Jesus, and St Bridget.
The bells are equipped with an electric clapper system and can be rung on cue with a switch by the church organist. The bells ring at the start and at the consecration rite of Mass.
Translation of Latin inscriptions:
Joseph - Saint Joseph, From lightning and storm protect your church. In honor of St Joseph, given by (?) Rev. Di Joseph Sartoris, First Pastor. Cast 1899.
Mary - Holy Mary, defend and protect our parish from every evil
Bridget - Saint Bridget, patron of the people of all Ireland
