"Pitkin Building, 193-195 East Washington Street, Vernacular, c.1900.

This two-story vernacular building is built of brick. It features a four-bay front facade with a recessed double entrance. Windows are vinyl replacements, each one-over-one double hung sash.

Erected as an apartment building about 1900, this brick vernacular structure has been used a combination residential and commercial property since 1933 when Dr. Edward Pitkin purchased it and established his medical office in the east first floor rooms. The building subsequently was known as the Pitkin Building. The west first floor rooms were used as an office by a local dentist. The building continues to be used for both residential and commercial purposes. Arthur and Betty Ann Brill are the current owners." - Historic District Nomination Form
