The pub is right next to the A1 road in Tempsford village. The building consists of red brick and the chimneys follow suit with cylindrical red brick designs. They have several steps of brickwork towards the top.
The Anchor is a hotel built by the Stuart family in 1831. It was then sold in the 1970s to Hamilton Taverns who later sold it to Scottish and Newcastle breweries.
