The Bailey Brothers were 7 African American Brothers from Punta Gorda, FL who went off to war. Six of the brothers served in WWII. Lt. Charles Bailey was a Tuskegee airman who flew 133 combat missions. Arthur Bailey was a corporal in the Marine Corps who spent time on Iwo Jima, one of the major battles in the Pacific. Combined, Maurice, Berlin, Harding, and Paul served in all four branches. Their youngest brother Lt. Carl Bailey was too young for WWII, but went on to fly jets in the Korean War. After their Military Service the brothers went on the become college graduates who had successful business, teaching, and community leadership careers.
