This abstract sculpture looks like a fine piece of artwork, but it has a more practical purpose as well.

This artistic bike rack sits on the sidewalk along Main Street in downtown Louisville, near the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts. It is a product of local artist Craig Kaviar, who has produced many pieces of forged metalwork. There are three loops embedded in the sidewalk, from which emanate vine-like branches leading to a figure that looks like a character in a Tim Burton movie, and is likely to scare away at the least any avian creatures trying to tamper with your bicycle.
