TT13H -1934 - Wilburn Ridge - Grayson Highlands SP, VA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Was surprised that it is not shown in gc.com's database, since it appears to be a USGS benchmark and is shown on the topological map at 4908 ft ABL.

My directions:
Park at Massie Gap (near N36° 37.990 W081° 30.543 which are coords for a micro geocache). Cross the level field to the horse gate (be sure to close once thru), then proceed up Rhododendron Trail to its intersection with the Appalachian Trial. Take the AT to the left (southbound) for roughly 100 years. Leave the trail to the left (south) heading towards the rock outcropping. Benchmark is mounted in the top.

Enjoy huckleberries (like small blueberries) when in season (August-early September). Watch out for the wild ponies which roam the area.
