My personal musical "hero". Cajun french accordionist Nathan Abshire was born in Gueydan, LA and lived most his life in Basile as the overseer of the town dump. Abshire wrote one of the best Cajun music songs "Pine Grove Blues". His motto was "The Good Times are Killing Me" This was wrote on his accordion. He served in WWII and recorded Pine Grove Blues after returning. He often played with the Balfa Brothers, musicians who shared his love and style of cajun music.
