Allaire State Park iss known for it's 19th century restored village, the Pine Creek Railroad and fantastic nature trails. The flood plain of the Manasquan River passes through the park, offering excellent habitats for over 200 species of wild flowers, trees, shrubs and other plants and a wide variety of wildlife. Migrating birds use this area as a stop-over along the Atlantic Flyway.
The Nature Center in Allaire is staffed during the summer and offers exhibits of the many species that can be found throughout the park.
This classic Smokey hangs on the side of the Nature Center, closest to the trailhead. We were out hiking the trail, and turned towards the center and found Smokey just waiting to be found.
