The Rice Homestead in Mayfield was built in 1790 and is on both the state and national registers of historic places. It has seen many changes over the years. On the property was a Fulling Mill, a Skin Mill, A Post Office and in later years a part of the areas rich history in glove manufacturing business. It is now owned by the Mayfield Historical Society who have turned it into a museum.
