EN: Stone statue was made in 1830 and originally was placed in private house. Later it started to decorate public fountain (from year 1656) at square Mirove namesti.
Luke the Evangelist (Ancient Greek: Loukas) was an early Christian leader who the Church Fathers such as Jerome and Eusebius said was the author of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles.
The Roman Catholic Church venerates him as Saint Luke, patron saint of physicians, surgeons, students, butchers and artists; his feast day is 18 October.
CZ: Kamenna socha sv.Lukase byla vytvorena v roce 1830 a puvodne byla vyzdobou soukromeho domu. Teprve pozdeji se presunala na kasnu z roku 1656 na Mirovem namesti.
Svatý Lukáš je evangelista, kterému je pripisováno Evangelium podle Lukáše (tretí kniha Nového zákona) a Skutky apoštolu (pátá kniha Nového zákona). Krome toho je mu prisuzováno autorství nekolik obrazu Panny Marie, i když všechny dochované portréty pocházejí z pozdejších dob, po jeho smrti.
