WFXT, Channel 25, is the Fox Network Affiliate for the Boston metropolitan area. This station provides the area with network shows such as The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and American Idol. The present location overlooks I-95/MA Route 128 at the exit ramps for U.S. Route 1 South and Route 1A South. The building has a large glass side, and several radar dishes pointing skyward. During the holiday season, colored filters cast different colors on these dishes.

The station in Boston started on October 10, 1977 as WXNE, Channel 25, and was owned by the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). It originally scheduled religious programming, including the 700 Club and Catholic services, and ran other programming that were determined to be "family friendly." The studios were located on Second Avenue in Needham (later occupied for a time by Univision).

In October, 1986, the station became an affiliate of the Fox Network, and, the programming slowly changed to the Fox Network's. There were some initial issues. For instance, News Corporation (News Corp.), which owned the Fox Network, also owned the newspaper, the Boston Herald. At the time, there was an FCC rule banning companies from owning more than one media type in a market. The station was purchased by the Boston Celtics basketball team and owned for a time, before News Corp. sold the Boston Herald. This then allowed them to purchase the TV station again in 1995. Some time around 1995 the station studios moved from Needham to the present site that was once a GM training center. The web site for the station and network was launched in 2006.

Starting in November 2008, the station's analog signal began to fail due to a power surge, which forced the station to reduce its broadcasting power. In February 2009, the station had to eliminate the analog signal altogether, which was far short of the June 2009 (moved) deadline for all stations to switch from an analog to digital signal.
