The Jeonju Paper museum is a private museum of the Pan Asia Paper Company located at their large Jeonju Paper Mill. Jeonju was the center of the ruling Jeoson Dynasty, rich in history.
The museum is free and offers interactive experiences of making the traditional hanji handmade paper. The entire process, involving more than a dozen steps is presented in dioramas and displays from the gathering of the mulberry bark to the final screening and drying processes.
Other displays in this museum document the history of paper in general, and modern uses of paper, including hanji. Also on display are several important relics of old Korean manuscripts and books.
