Mt. Bross is frequently climbed from the Kite Lake Trailhead in conjunction with Mts. Lincoln, Cameron, and Democrat. The trailhead can be reached by driving six miles north on Colorado Highway 9 from the U.S. Highway 285-Colorado Highway 9 junction in Fairplay to Alma, Colorado. Turn west onto Park County Road 8 (AKA: Kite Lake Road) and drive six miles to the trailhead at Kite Lake. The last mile of this dirt road is difficult for 2wd vehicles. There is a parking lot at the trailhead and a fee is required to park here. There is a well worn trail to the northeast up the slopes of Mt. Bross. The hike is 1.4 miles one way.
