This area used to be covered with gorse, which has now been cleared the beautiful purple heather has taken over; it was certainly smelling lovely as well.
The area is on the south western edge of the Dartmoor National Park not far from Plymouth, and is popular with dog walkers.
The heather flowers in August and September.
