This is a very pretty waterfall at a favourite swimming spot, a safe place to swim near Minginui and a very tranquil place to have a picnic, go fishing or camp overnight in the campground.

The Mangamate waterfall is a favorite place for both locals and visitors alike. It falls from a tributary stream into the Whirinaki River at DOC campground. The campground has recently been upgraded with level sires along the river. Two platforms are provided to allow fishing by people in Wheelchairs. A visitor shelter is being provided with water and benches. Toilet facilities are already in place.
