This is a small statue of an elephant in the Louisville Zoo. The statue is bronze. The trunk of the elephant is shaped like a stirrup, and the curve of the back is a natural sitting place. The wear of the finish indicates that many children have ridden Ely. The plaque nearby reads:

""Ely"
