Hurkamp Park is located at William St. and Prince Edward St. There are brick walkways lined with benches and lamp posts that meet at a fountain surrounded with greenery in the middle of the park.
Hurkamp Park is the scene for many activities and events including outdoor concerts, farmer markets, fitness camps, craft shows, and holiday celebrations.
In the late 1700s and early 1800s, there was a burying ground here, but neglect turned it into an eyesore. It was decided to clean up the area and convert it to a park. It was dedicated in 1881 and named for John Hurkamp, a local businessman, who gave his financial help and support. Two historic displays can be found near the fountain.
Hurkamp Park is opened from 5 AM to 10 PM.
