This mosaic and the other next to it have a decided environmental theme to them. This one focuses on recycling and man's influence and responsibility to his home planet. Basically, the responsibility of maintaining the planet and protecting it from us, falls on us. The mosaic features an interesting picture of a man with outstretched over the planet perhaps symbolizes mans endless reach across the vastness of our world as well as his sometimes unfettered, negative influence. The recycling symbol is also prominently features as well.
NetworkArts is responsible for this and the other mosaic around the corner wall. They are into placing mosaics around Philadelphia and have been doing so for quite time. There is even a beautiful mosaic by this company in my school. This waymark is featured fourth on their home page HERE
