Edenvale Garden Park is the location of what used to be Frontier Village, an amusement park for children with a wild west theme.
Frontier Village no longer exists, but several birdhouses have been created within the park, that mark the spot and have the theme of the ride or building that used to be at that location.
The old red One-Room School House of Frontier Village provided visitors with a glimpse back in time of how children of the old west went to school. Old-fashioned desks with working inkwells adorned the little classroom. Fine details were recreated, including an original school bell that was used at the New Almaden School on the hill, from the 1870's to the end of operations and donated to the village by the Almaden Museum. This birdhouse was recreated in the image of the One-Room School House and was designed with bird entrance holes and cavities to attract the House Wren.
